Green Cities Inc., through its Solid Waste Management Project – From Waste to Wealth, has awarded certificates to 150 participants following the successful completion of composting training sessions in Ganta City, Nimba County, and Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
The certification ceremonies took place on 14 May in Ganta City and 16 May in Buchanan, recognizing participants for successfully completing the training programme focused on compost production, waste segregation, and sustainable waste management practices.
The training engaged women, youth, and persons with disabilities from various communities, equipping them with practical knowledge to transform organic waste into valuable compost while contributing to cleaner communities and environmental sustainability.
Speaking during the certification, participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to gain practical green skills that can support both environmental protection and livelihood opportunities within their communities.
The initiative forms part of Green Cities Inc.’s broader commitment to promoting circular economy solutions and community-led environmental action under the From Waste to Wealth project.
By certifying these participants, Green Cities Inc. continues to strengthen local capacity in sustainable waste management, helping communities reduce landfill waste, improve sanitation, and create economic opportunities through the waste value chain.
